  • Chitose paves the way for a hopeful and high-tech future with Microalgae

As fossil fuels continue to contribute to a rapid deterioration of our planet's natural habitat, there is an ever increasing demand to search for renewable energy sources. As a global leader in the microalgae biotech industry, Chitose Bio Evolution Pte. Ltd., ("CHITOSE") has been researching and producing microalgae in their facilities in both Japan, as well as in Sarawak, Malaysia. One of the key aims of Chitose, and CEO Tomohiro Fujita P.h.D, is to create and accelerate the growth of an international microalgae industry. The MATSURI project is an initiative created by CHITOSE, which is a consortium of companies and organizations, in partnership with CHITOSE, that seek to replace their product pipeline with microalgae, replacing our current reliance on fossil fuels. As a member of the MATSURI project, WAM Co., Ltd. ("WAM") seeks to provide international business development to both MATSURI as well as CHITOSE. WAM also brings to the table years of global promotional capabilities, increasing the global reach and appeal of the project for an international audience. Microalgae provide 75% of the global oxygen supply. The single celled organism requires CO2 and photosynthesis, and in turn microalgae release oxygen as a byproduct. The harvested microalgae can then be used in such ways as bioplastics, lubricants, biofuel and food. At WAM, we believe in the possibility for microalgae to play a pivotal role in transitioning from our current reliance on hydrocarbons and the fossil fuel industry. • Reforesting woodland in Miyazaki with local species.

Think local, plant local. Our friends at NPO Seirin have been actively working in the Hyuga, Miyazaki area to reforest single mono-culture forests with local species of trees. With the blessings of Takachiho Shrine, they have planted saplings that are found in Miyazaki prefecture - breaking from the planting of single species, most. commonly American Cedar. With the help of the local children and community, we held the first of what should eventually grow to be a nation wide movement of bettering our forests - for the sake of both wild animals, the environment and for the people in those communities. You can follow NPO Seirin's activities here: https://ja-jp.facebook.com/nposeirin/
